Microwave digestion replaces traditional acid digestion where it is too time-consuming or incomplete.

## Applications in Nordic environmental labs.

Microwave digestion is often a rate-limiting step in an accredited environmental lab workflow. Traditional acid digestion on a hot plate takes hours, requires operator attention, and yields inconsistent results on difficult-to-digest matrices. Microwave digestion performs the same task in minutes with a reproducible temperature and pressure profile and without operator dependence. Configuration is done against three application clusters in the Nordic environmental lab business.

Microwave digestion must be traceable to established method standards and certified reference materials. Initial calibration is built against certified material matching your sample matrix. Recalibration is scheduled according to the agreed service plan and documented in accordance with your quality systems.

Milestone ETHOS UP is a classic rotor-based microwave system; ultraWAVE uses Single Reaction Chamber technology. Preekem M6 offers high-pressure rotors with equivalent performance per US EPA 3051A/3052, plus configuration and service from the Nordic region via Labsense.
